Dave Long – Background

Dave has been on, in and under the water messing with boats for 30 years or so. Half of his family hails from Maine. His Mom and Uncles grew up on Teel’s Island off the coast of Port Clyde Me. Half of the clan became watermen, Lobster fisherman or Trawler fisherman. Dave experience covers both large and small project restorations.

Dave has also been a guest speaker for the Catboat Association’s annual convention and a presenter at the Dupont Scool Of fabrication annual convention.

Dave is an advance open water certified SCUBA diver.

General ships carpentry work.

Marla 36 ft Sports fishing boat. Interior and exterior fabrication. Trunk Cabin. Raised deck.

Ticonderoga. 1936 L. Francis Herreshoff. Assisted with removal and fabrication of Oval 12 ft long cockpit. Forward deck boxes for gas bottles.

Belle Poole. 1926 Fife, assisted with removal and fabrication of new interior

Boreas. 1963 48 ft. Gaff rigged schooner removed deck, removed deck frames one at a time replaced. Re decked.

Dante. 1963 44 ft. Motor yacht. Various repairs to address years of neglect.

At Ease. 1969 18 foot Marshall Catboat . Total restoration Keel - up. Fiber glass repairs interior paint, center board trunk repairs. New Bow sprit, all teak refinished or replaced.

Chug a Lug. 1974 O-day Javelin. Gel coat repairs, new CB, new rub rails.

Ahoy. 8 ft tinder. Built from plans. Still floats!!

Sunshine. 1971 O-Day 23. Total refit. Hull cosmetically challenged. New interior new exterior. Sandblasted Keel, Interlux sealer/ paint. Fabricated new swing keel. Gel Coat repairs in Cockpit.

Jarvis Newman , 12 foot skiff. Total restoration. Great looking skiff!
